1. Consider your dissertation research interests. Identify onecategorical/nominal scale IV with more than 2 categories, and three DVs that are measured on continuous scales. Think of DV measures that probably are moderately correlated with each other because they are measuring different components of the same or similar concepts (e.g., three different measures of academic performance). State the null and alternative hypotheses based on this design (with a planned analysis using a one-way MANOVA)2. Considering the variables and design that you described in the first discussion question in this module, what information would a one-way MANOVA provide you? What more would you want to know if you get significant results in the MANOVA? Why would this be significant to your research?*** questions must answered separately******** up to 300 words each questionI have uploaded a document highlighting my topic of interest, also I have highlighted notes made by instructor regarding my research please use the provided information to answer the following question

Based on your dissertation research interests, identify two categorical/nominal scale IVs and
one continuous scale DV you could incorporate for your study. State the null and alternative hypotheses
based on this design (with a planned analysis using a factorial ANOVA). (Research support is not
required for this question
The research question will investigate the impact of cultural and social factors in underage
children committing crimes with Los Angeles as a case study
IV (Categorical): Cultural factors and Social factors
DV (Continuous): Committing Crime
The null hypothesis
Ho1: cultural factors do not influence underage children committing crimes
Ho2: social factors do not influence underage children committing crimes
Ho3: cultural and social factors do not influence crime rate in underage children.
The alternative hypothesis
Ha1: cultural factors influences crime rate in underage children
Ha2: social factors influences crime rate in underage children.
Ha3: social and cultural factors influence crime rate in children.
Notes from instructor; What are the levels for cultural factors? What are the levels for social
factors? This is a bit vague.
Then commiting crime — how is it continuous? For example, number of crimes commited in the last
Just FYI — in real life, this topic is like asking “What causes homelessness?” More rhetorical and
very hard to answer. You would be here doing research foreever trying to answer.
2. Considering the variables and design that you described in the first discussion question in this
module, what information would a factorial ANOVA provide you (think of which F-values are computed
and evaluated)? Why would this be significant to your research?
My answer : Factorial ANOVA involves the use of two independent variables in a study. In order to
use factorial ANOVA in analyzing the data based on the research question, the factorial ANOVA,
unlike one-way ANOVA that tends to find an association between a single independent variable in
relation to a dependent variable, factorial ANOVA compares, at least, two independent variables
with a dependent variable. This set of research will allow me to get the best possible image of the
main factors that contribute to the increase or reduction of crimes that are committed by
underage children. The use of factorial ANOVA will help in understanding if there is any association
between the mean of the two independent categorical variables which is Cultural factors and
Social factors with the dependent variables Committing Crime. The research question will
investigate the impact of cultural and social factors in underage children committing crimes with
Los Angeles as a case study To obtain accurate data for analysis, the instruments used to collect
data must be checked and perfectly made to suit the data collection process. The method of
collection should be made easy for a better understanding of the research questions.
Notes by instructor:
I am concerned about how difficult it is to measure cultural and social factors. You will need to be
much, much more specific.
